Healthier Fish & Chips

Kids always love crunchy and crispy foods 😋, but more often than not, crispy food is related to unhealthiness and oiliness. But with an oven, or an air-frying, you can make this healthier fish & chips 🍟 recipe with lighter batter, fewer calories and less oil & fat.

Yields2 Servings

For fishes
 2 Pacific Cod
 1 Eggs
 ¼ cup Milk
 ¼ cup Breadcrumbs
 ¼ cup Flour
 1 Lemon Zest
 Salt & pepper
For chips
 2 Potatoes
 Salt & pepper
 1 tbsp Olive Oil

For Fish

In a dish, beat the egg and milk. then combine the bread crumbs, flour, spices, and a pinch of salt in the other dish.

In another dish, combine the bread crumbs, flour, a pinch of salt and pepper.

Dip one fish piece at the time, first in the flour mixture, then in the egg mixture. Let the excess egg drip off before coating the fish in the flour mixture again. Turn the fish to coat both sides.

Put the fish on an rack above a baking pan and spray them evenly with a olive oil.

Bake the fish for 15 min on the top oven rack.

For Chips

Cut the potatoes in half lengthwise, then cut each half into 4-6 wedges. And make sure that the potato wedges are packed dry.

Place the potatoes on a sheet pan with the olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss all the ingredients together, making sure the potatoes are covered with oil.

Bake the potatoes for 30 to 35 minutes, turning to the other cut side after 20 minutes. Bake until they are lightly browned, crisp outside, and tender inside. Sprinkle with salt and serve.
