Located on the Third Street in Sai Ying Pun, Fu Ying Pork is a popular and reputable butcher around the neighbourhood. ‘I start working and preparing the cuts at 5AM in the morning everyday, I’d miss the pigs if I wake up late!’ Mr. Kwan jokingly said. ‘Pigs are omnivores, farmers feed them corns, grains and vegetables, etc. When I was little my father cooked Chinese herbal teas for his pigs to strengthen their immune system. Pig farmers in Mainland mix the pig feeds with asthma drugs because this drug could make the pigs grow and mature faster. 富營豬位於西營盤第三街,因為信譽良好,很受居民和鄰近食肆歡迎。「我每天準時(清晨)五時開始工作,因為豬已經送到,不能不開工了!」健談的關先生笑道。「豬屬於雜食動物,豬農會餵飼穀物和蔬菜作日常糧食,以前我爸爸當豬農的時候會時不時煲涼茶給豬仔喝,這樣就不會這麼容易生病了。內地豬農為了讓豬加快成長,會直接將哮喘藥混入飼料。」 本地白豬豬肉來自打鼓嶺的豬場。逢星期一於早晨有售的黑毛豬*,肉味相對較濃,數量有限,賣完即止。想買到心水黑毛豬部位,別忘記預早訂購呢!
